About Us
The G.O.A.T. Story from 2019 to Present
Team G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Times) #8092 was founded in June 2019 at Halit Narin Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Çerkezköy, Tekirdağ with support from BSH Turkey and the Kodluyoruz Foundation. From day one G.O.A.T. 8092 became the first and only FIRST Robotics Competition team established in the Tekirdağ province.
2019 Season – Founding Year
During the 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition season (Destination: Deep Space) the team was still newly formed and did not enter an official competition—the registered “rookie year” is 2020. Throughout this period the crew focused on internal training and outreach to prepare for their first official season.
2020 Season – Infinite Recharge
G.O.A.T. 8092 made its official debut in the 2020 season. The team attended the 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition Bosphorus Regional in Istanbul (9–11 March 2020), finishing 27th in the qualification rankings with a 4–4 record—a remarkable result for a brand-new team.
🏆 Rookie All-Star Award
Per the official FIRST definition: celebrates the rookie team exemplifying a young but strong partnership effort, as well as implementing the mission of FIRST to inspire students to learn more about science and technology. G.O.A.T. 8092 earned this award in their first competitive season — though the FIRST Championship ticket it normally carries could not be used due to the COVID-19 cancellation.
2021 Season – Infinite Recharge at Home
Because of the pandemic, in-person FIRST Robotics Competition events were suspended in 2021 and replaced with virtual challenges. G.O.A.T. 8092 joined the Infinite Recharge at Home skills competition and the Game Design Challenge, finishing 11th in the Germanium Group of the remote challenge.
Key Milestone: In September 2021 students from Veliköy OSB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School joined G.O.A.T., turning the team into a joint FIRST Robotics Competition programme run by two schools.
2022 Season – Rapid React
With pandemic restrictions easing, FIRST Robotics Competition returned to the field in 2022. G.O.A.T. 8092 competed at the 2022 FIRST Robotics Competition Bosphorus Regional (18–20 March, Sanyer/Istanbul), finishing qualifications 8th out of 43 teams with a 5–3 record. As the first pick of the 5th alliance the team reached the quarterfinals, where they fell 0–2. Overall match record for the season: 5–5.
2023 Season – Charged Up
The 2023 FIRST Robotics Competition Bosphorus Regional (27–29 March, Sanyer/Istanbul) was the team’s only official event that season. G.O.A.T. 8092 finished with a 5–4 record, ranking 24th out of 45 teams. The team did not advance to the playoffs but continued building experience for future seasons.
2024 Season – CRESCENDO
In the 2024 FIRST Robotics Competition season G.O.A.T. 8092 did not attend an official event, focusing instead on strengthening resources and sponsorship. New supporters such as Çetin Group, Saray Aluminium, and Yılmaz Kalıp joined while the team continued internal training, robotics work, and community outreach.
Key Milestone: High-school members also launched a junior squad called “G.O.A.T. Jr.” to mentor middle-school students in robotics.
2025 Season – REEFSCAPE
G.O.A.T. 8092 returned to the FIRST Robotics Competition field in 2025. At the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition Bosphorus Regional (4–6 March, İstanbul Fuar Merkezi, Bakırköy) the team competed in the REEFSCAPE game, finishing 36th out of 48 teams with a 3–6 match record and missing the playoffs.
Beyond competition the team kept up impactful work through engineering workshops, social-responsibility projects, and coding trainings, earning local media coverage for inspiring young people and supporting vocational education in the region.
2026 Season – REBUILT 🏆
G.O.A.T. 8092 competed at the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition Avrasya Regional (Bakırköy, Istanbul, 31 March–2 April 2026) in the FIRST Robotics Competition 2026 REBUILT season. The team placed 34th out of 40 teams with a 3–6 match record and stood out throughout the event for its strong team culture, community contribution, and commitment to FIRST values.
🏆 Judges' Award – Avrasya Regional
Per the official FIRST definition: during the course of the competition, the judging panel may decide a team's unique efforts, performance, or dynamics merit recognition. G.O.A.T. 8092's distinctive team identity and dynamics at the 2026 Avrasya Regional earned this recognition — the team's second official FIRST award.
